From Referral to Career Growth
Jesse joined Steel Supply in 2019, thanks to a referral from his longtime friend and now colleague, David Vargas. The two have been close since grade school—a true testament to the power of networking.
Finding His Place in Outside Sales
He began training for a phone sales position but quickly stood out for his background in outside sales. Recognizing his strengths, Steel Supply transitioned him into that role, where he continues to thrive.

A Day in the Life on the Road
In outside sales, no two days are the same. Jesse spends four days a week on the road, meeting people from all walks of life and with a wide range of personalities. His typical day starts with breakfast with a customer, followed by several visits, lunch with another client, and more stops throughout the day. In many ways, his vehicle doubles as his office, with the phone always close at hand.
The Value of Personal Connections
While he’s noticed more customers turning to email and text, Jesse still prefers the personal touch of a phone call—and even more face-to-face meetings.
Life Beyond Work
Outside of work, he enjoys outdoor activities, such as hunting, fishing, playing sports, or firing up the BBQ.
